Notice of the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind Society’s Annual General Meeting (AGM)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the annual general meeting of the members of The Pacific Training Centre for the Blind (the “Society”) will take place on September 30, 2017 in Victoria from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

Greater Victoria Public Library, Central Branch
735 Broughton Street, Victoria, British Columbia

This meeting will be held for the purposes of:

  • Receiving the financial statements of the society;
  • Approving the minutes of the 2018 Annual General Meeting of members; and
  • Electing the board of directors.

If you are unable to attend but would still like to participate, you can do so by teleconference. The call-in details will be provided in the meeting agenda.

Accessible event at the Maritime Museum

On Wednesday September 11 at 2:00 there will be a free presentation at the Maritime Museum, 634 Humboldt Street, for individuals who are blind or vision impaired.  The event is being organized by the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind and the Victoria Society for Blind Arts and Culture.  It will feature the current exhibit on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch as well as a hands-on talk about early maritime exploration of British Columbia.  To register for this event, please reply to this email or call Linda at 250-595-5888 to reserve your spot as space is limited.

Notice of the Camp Bowen Society for the Independence of the Blind and Deafblind’s Annual Meeting of Members

Come join us at our Annual Meeting of Members (the term we’re now using for Annual General Meetings) to find out what the Camp Bowen Society for the Independence of the Blind and Deafblind has accomplished this past year and what we have planned going forward. Some other highlights of the agenda include a very special announcement regarding our Music Camp program and the passing society By-Laws.

As usual, there will be the option of participating via teleconference. We will be holding the physical meeting on Bowen Island this year in the Board Room at First Credit Union (106-996 Dorman Road, Bowen Island, BC). Whereas the Canadian Not For Profit (NFP) Act requires the membership of a corporation to pass ByLaws of the Corporation; and

Whereas the Camp Bowen Society for the Independence of the Blind and Deafblind is governed by the Canadian Not For Profit (NFP) Act;

Be it resolved that By-Law #1 of the Camp Bowen Society for the Independence of the Blind and Deafblind be adopted by the Corporation’s membership.
