Notice IS HEREBY GIVEN that a general convention of the members of The proposed Pacific Training Centre for the Blind (PTCB) Division of the Canadian Organization of the Blind and Deafblind (COBD) that includes a special resolution for the membership’s consideration will take place on May 31, 2021 from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
Location: Due to COVID-19, this general convention will be held via teleconference.
This meeting will be held for the purposes of:
- Electing the members of the Division Board of Directors;
- Approving the Division’s constitution; and
- Approving the Division’s bylaws.
The special resolution for the membership’s consideration at this general convention is as follows:
Whereas the members present at this meeting wish to make an application to establish the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind Division as a Division of the Canadian Organization of the Blind and Deafblind (COBD), herein referred to as the “Corporation”;
Whereas all of the members present at this meeting will form the founding membership of the proposed Pacific Training Centre for the Blind Division; and
Whereas the bylaws of the Corporation require that the membership of a Division applying for inclusion as a Division of the Corporation pass a Constitution and Bylaws prior to gaining approval from the Corporation’s Board of Directors for inclusion as a Division of the Corporation;
Be it resolved this thirty-first day of May, 2021 that the Constitution and Bylaws for the Division named the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind be adopted by the membership of the Division and be it further resolved that the aforementioned Constitution and Bylaws shall come into effect on the first day of June, 2021.
