Blind News Victoria Bulletin
The Pacific Training Centre for the Blind (PTCB) is sending out this bulletin as there are three events coming up in May that you might be interested in.
On Friday, May 4 2018, the Canadian Federation of the Blind (CFB) will be holding a trivia night fund-raiser at Norway House. Bring a table of friends and pit your trivia knowledge against others and win prizes while having fun! Tickets for the Trivia Night are $25 each. You can reserve your individual ticket or table by contacting Graeme McCreath treasurer@cfb.ca.
The CFB AGM and Convention is on May 5, 2018 and will be held at the Sandman Hotel, 2852 Douglas St. Victoria.
The one day convention kicks off at 9:00 in the morning and includes lunch with registration. The formal festivities will wrap up by 5:30 P.M. Please register as soon as possible by contacting Graeme McCreath treasurer@cfb.ca. We need to have an accurate count to give the hotel well in advance.
Registration is $50, provided you make your intention to attend known before April 28. After that date, the cost rises to $55.
This is also official notice that the annual general meeting of the Canadian Federation of the Blind will take place at 4:30 P.M. as part of the convention.
Please don’t allow cost to keep you away. Write president@cfb.ca for confidential support.
On Wednesday May 9, the Butchart Gardens will be hosting its annual complimentary lunch for persons who are blind and their guides. The Sidney White Cane Club is organizing the event and those interested in participating are asked to call Jennifer Vanes at 250-656-5537 by Wednesday May 2, 2018 to add you and your guide’s names to the guest list.
