Subject-Specific Job Duties:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to blind/DeafBlind adults in the alternative techniques of using technology as a blind/DeafBlind person, including the use of desktops, mobile devices, smart speakers, etc.
- Assist the participant and Student Support Services in the process of procuring adaptive technology for the participant.
Subject-Specific Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable about assistive technology used by the blind/DeafBlind (NVDA, VoiceOver, etc).
- A willingness to keep up with adaptive technology used by the blind/DeafBlind (NVDA, VoiceOver, etc).
- A good working knowledge of mainstream technology used by consumers and workplaces.
- A willingness to keep up with mainstream technology used by consumers and workplaces.
- A working knowledge of adaptive technologies used by people with other disabilities an asset.
- A willingness to keep up with relevant adaptive technologies used by people with other disabilities an asset.
