Today’s Events Edition of the BlindHub Canada Podcast is something a little different. The Events Edition will be released periodically and feature upcoming events in the blind, DeafBlind, and lo vision communities from across Canada. Interested organizations can send in their upcoming events no later than the first of each month by contacting COBD.

First up is VocalEye’s East Van Panto: The Little Mermaid- Wednesday, December 11, 6:30 PM Pacific Time on Zoom.

Join VocalEye for a filmed theatre performance of *The Little Mermaid* by Theatre Replacement. This beloved production is jam-packed with music, jokes, and local references. It features VocalEye’s audio description by Eileen Barrett. Host Amy Amantea will welcome special guests Maiko Yamamoto, Artistic Director, and Dawn Petten, who plays the wickedly funny Ursula.

Next up is the Coast-to-Coast-to-Coast Bistro Night – Saturday, December 14, 6:30 PM EST on Zoom.

Enjoy a festive evening of holiday music performed in both English and French, featuring piano, guitar, and vocals. This is a chance to connect with others, share holiday cheer, and enjoy a great musical atmosphere. Performers are encouraged to register early as spots are limited.

Third is the VocalEye Holiday Surprise – Wednesday, December 18, 6:30 PM Pacific Time on Zoom.

Celebrate the end of the year with Amy Amantea, Christine Malec, and JJ Hunt in a fun-filled evening of games, music, and holiday cheer. Highlights include Secret Santa surprises and the announcement of the 15th Anniversary Online 50/50 Raffle winner. It’s a perfect way to wrap up 2024 with the VocalEye community.

Fourth up is the CCB BC-Yukon Devision’s Book Club – Wednesday, December 18, 9:00 AM Pacific Time on Zoom.

This month’s discussion focuses on *Holidays on Ice* by David Sedaris. Join the conversation and share your thoughts on this holiday-themed book with fellow readers. Future selections include *Skipping Christmas* by John Grisham and *Happiness* by Aminatta Forna.
