Notice IS HEREBY GIVEN that a general meeting of the members of The Pacific Training Centre for the Blind Society that includes a special resolution for the membership’s consideration will take place on May 31, 2021 from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
Location: Due to COVID-19, this general meeting will be held via teleconference.
This meeting will be held for the purpose of having the membership vote on a resolution to merge the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind Society (PTCB) with the Canadian Organization of the Blind and Deafblind (COBD). The resolution under consideration is below:
Whereas the Board of Directors of the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind Society (PTCB) recognizes the benefits of merging with the Canadian Organization of the Blind and Deafblind (COBD);
Whereas the membership of the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind Society (PTCB) also recognize the benefits of having the two aforementioned organizations merge; and
Whereas the Canadian organization of the Blind and Deafblind (COBD) has filed for Cherity status with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA);
Be it resolved this 31st day of May, 2021 that the membership of the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind Society (PTCB) agree to the merger of the Pacific Training Centre for the Blind (PTCB) and the Canadian Organization of the Blind and Deafblind (COBD) upon the latter’s designation as a Cherity by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

For those wishing to sign up or renew their PTCB memberships, membership dues are $5 and must be paid before the meeting if you want to vote. Membership dues can be paid via E-transfer to admin@ptcb.ca. The call-in details will be provided after registration.
